Finland head coach Staffan Johansson:”We played on our own level.”
11 Finns started the competition and four out of them were still on the course on the final day. “I think six of the eleven actually had chances to succeed in this championship. Four of them played on the final round and two were disappointed.
Positive feedback from the coach went especially to Tuomas Salminen and Joonas Hinkkanen and the two who were probably the most disappointed after the tournament were Miro Veijalainen and Toni Hakula.
“It is of course a pity that some of our players did not succeed in the best possible way. But the fact is that this is the level we are on at the moment compared to other European countries. If some of our four players reach top 25 on the last round, you could even say that the week was good.”

Staffan Johansson gives big thanks to the arrangements of this tournament. “One colleague of mine said that this has been the best amateur competition ever held in Europe and it is easy to agree.”
