Finnish hopes for the European Amateur tested their skills against pros
Two plaeyrs representing Finland in the upcoming European Amateur, Kalle Samooja and Tapio Pulkkanen, got the chance to face two professional golfers, Mikko Ilonen of Finland and Johan Edfors of Sweden on the Vanajanlinna course, which is the host for this year's tournament. This was made possible by the Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand that is the Asian home of both Ilonen and Edfors. The competition went by the name "Black Mountain Challenge" and was played as a nine hole best ball match in teams of Ilonen and Edfors against Samooja and Pulkkanen.
The professionals took the lead early in the game after Edfors scored an eagle on the second hole and managed to keep their position until the end. On the eight hole the gap between the two teams grew after Ilonen made a nice birdie but Samooja did the same on the last hole and the final result turned out to be 33 for Ilonen and Edfors and 35 for Samooja and Pulkkanen.
