Tournament information

Accommodation

There are three official tournament hotels:

Hotel Vanajanlinna

• On site

Sokos Hotel Vaakuna

• In Hämeenlinna
• 10 min. drive, free shuttle

Hotel Rantasipi Aulanko

• In Hämeenlinna
• 10 min. drive, free shuttle

Am-Am tournament

The Am-Am tournament will be played on Mon August 2nd. International players (max. 20) will be invited by their WAGR position. Invitations will be sent through national federations.

Ceremonies

The official opening ceremony followed by a welcome cocktail party, will take place at the clubhouse on Tue  August 3rd at 06.30 pm.

The prize giving ceremony will take place 30 minutes after the final round has finished, at appr. 4.30 pm.

The farewell dinner will take place at the main castle on Sat  August 7th at 07.00 pm.

All ceremonies are free of charge, but players and officials must indicate their participation for the farewell dinner at the tournament office when completing their registration latest Tue August 3rd.

Drug abuse

Golf is committed to follow the WADA anti-doping code. All participants are personally responsible for their own actions. Any action against the WADA anti-doping code will lead to immediate disqualification.

Entries

All entries to the championship must be done through the EGA Entries website.

The closing date for entries is Mon June 28th. The list of participants will be posted on the official championship website as well as on the EGA website on Wed June 30th.

Notice boards

Notice boards will be located in the clubhouse and in the receptions at the official hotels.

All relevant and important information will be posted on the notice boards.

Practice rounds

Official practice days are Mon 2nd and Tue 3rd of August. Bookings for starting times must be done through the caddie master:

Note: Due to the Am-Am event on Mon the 2nd of August, the practice round that day will be played with a shot gun start at 08.00 am.

Registration

All participants must register at the tournament office, at the latest 12.00 am on Tue  August 3rd.

Shuttle service

Free shuttle service (hotel – golf club) is available for players and officials accommodated in the official hotels. One way trip takes appr. 10 minutes.

Tournament office

The tournament office is located in the clubhouse area, in Ratsula building. An Information desk is located in the clubhouse.

Transportation

Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is the main airport. The driving distance is appr. 100 km. Airport transportation will be provided for a cost of 50 € / person for a roundtrip. Bookings with indicated flight schedule can be made through the bookings section on this website.

Tampere (Pirkkala) airport is located appr. 80 km from Hämeenlinna. Transports can be arranged by separate request.

Special flight offer

Due to the fact that the Finnish Amateur Championship will be played in Helsinki the week after the IEAC, the Finnish Golf Union can provide a very special offer for flights and accommodation for the second week.
